Well she was an old dog and we expected it. I was actually surprised that it hit me hard because she had been sick for a while now and we had a lot of time to say our goodbyes.

I have my first Corgi and I can't tell you what a treat he is! The fur is nice and solid! I know what you mean about the flying fur, we had tumble weeds bow around the house with my Akita and my GSD. When I was a kid and we lost our first Lab my Mom said NO MORE FUR it did not last long, the new Lab was irresistible! Good luck, and keep us posted on the search

I've heard Corgis are great dogs. So nice to see so many dog lovers!

I think I forgot to say... "Great pic shanyalv!" I was watching the news on that horrible storm that hit the east coast! Nice to see you all enjoying the snow.

Very sorry to hear about your Fur Baby Sunny, I myself lost my Beloved Best friend in April. She was 11 years old. She had gotten out of my mothers yard in Downtown Reno(while I was on vacation). She got into the Truckee River and Drowned. I am not the same without her, and I dont know if I ever will be. I did get a new puppy by surprise this September, and although I love her, she will never take the place of Lexus-My love lost. Lexus was incredibly smart and knew every command known to the dog and human world. Vanity is my new pup, and although she is smart, shes kind of a meat head, and in the silly,clumsy,50 pound puppy stage. Having got her it has taken just the edge off my heartache. She is slowly helping me heal..

My last picture ever taken of my lost love,Lexus, with my Rooster when he was a chick.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven lies the Rainbow Bridge.

When a beloved pet dies, it goes to the Rainbow Bridge. It makes friends with other animals and frolics over rolling hills and peaceful, lush meadows of green.

Our pets do not thirst or hunger. The old and the sick are made young once more; and the maimed and the ill become healed and strong. They are as healthy and playful as we remember them in days gone by.

Though happy and content, they still miss someone very special, someone they had to leave behind.

Together, the animals chase and play, but the day comes when a pet will suddenly stop and look into the distance... bright eyes intent, eager body quivering. Suddenly recognizing you, your pet bounds quickly across the green fields and into your embrace. You celebrate in joyous reunion. You will never again separate. Happy tears and kisses are warm and plenty; your hands caress the face you missed. You look once more into the loving eyes of your pet and know you never really parted. You realize that out of sight, your love had been remembered.

And now, you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

Oh Such sweet pics of your babies! I have to admit my favorite dog was one I had when I was a kid. He was half black wolf and half shepherd, smart as a whip and not hyper like wolves at all. We got him from a friend who was upset because his father was abusing the dog. He was so awesome and it would take too long to name all his wonderful qualities but I still miss him terribly! Sometimes I think it's not fair to all the other dogs I've had in my life because I still compare them all to Pal.

all this talk is so sad.

Gitlost, I'm so sorry about your Lexus. It's a weird coincidence that the same happened to us in the same month. I have a hard time even looking at the river still- the image of watching my best friend go under and then helpleslly be gone haunts me everytime. I had nightmares for weeks.

Sorry if this stirs up sadness, just know I ALMOST understand how you feel.

If it had been in the summer, when the River wasnt so furious and cold from the snow melt, Im sure she would have been fine, but she had spent a long, lazy winter in the house and wasnt strong enough to fight the current. She was found near our favorite spot where I used to take her and throw her stick in the water. Not to mention no one was around to help her. Im still heartbroken about it and have a grudge against the Truckee River. If she hadnt been chipped, I would have never known what happened to her. She now sits on my fire place mantle and watches over us. I take her cedar box with us anytime we go somewhere special. She went to Burning man with us this year and I even built her a memorial and put it on the Temple for the burn(BurningMan talk). Hold your pets close to you and show them all the love they deserve, everyday. You never know what can happen in the blink of an eye. Same goes for all your loved ones.P.S. Your Bully is very handsome!
