Nevadans?

So we cut off part of our coop for our little chicks, as I posted earlier. Anyway, heres some pictures of it!

Right now all we have done is the inside part, but we will give them some outside space tomorrow.
You can also see I put in a small roost for them, but when i went down to check on them after it was
getting dark, they were all bunched up together on the ground. Maybe I should teach them how to roost?

^^ You can see here, we divided the door in half, so the big chickens can go in their part of the yard, and
the little pullets can go on their side, once we finish their side of it.

I turned on the timer, and held the camera by the end of the lanyard thingy, so it would go off
on their level, and shot some pretty good pics

<-- Those Australorps are really interested in the camera, I seem to always get pictures of them like this

And tomorrow...

We are going to fence off part of the run so the chicks can go outside and fly around, because they really
want to. I watched them try to fly in their brooder and it didn't work well so I knew they needed this!

I'll try to get some more pict tomorrow, hope y'all enjoy these ones!

Looks fantastic Jeepers! It makes such a difference once you get them out into the big wide world - so much more for them to do, watch, scratch and just check out.

I finally have a coop dedicated to "chicks" - has a few adults but mostly is a grow-out coop for chicks and broody moms. I got so tired of hauling dog crates from the hay shed or garage out to fenced areas - plus those dang chicks get heavy very quickly.

Took some pictures yesterday - mostly of broodies and chicks - during the short nice time we had in the morning. Will try to get them sorted and posted.

Hi all!!! My modem is kaput so I'm on a borrowed computer right now.

Jeeper the grow out brooder looks great!

Genny congrats on the new grow out coop. We need pics!

Aubrey we must hear that story!!! I was pretty wild in my youth but I was never banned from a whole city!

I'm no expert, but I would think the top two birds are very much roo-ish: Reddening combs throughout and coarser combs than the bottom two. But I wouldn't rule out the bottom two as being late bloomers....

How are the legs on all of them? (Yeah, I know, TWO per! I meant thickness)

I know it's not nice to think about, but this made me laugh.....

What to do with all those boy chicks????

Speaking of cockerels, do you think that white and black EE is a roo?

Jeepers

I cannot really tell by the pics, but he seems to exhibit roo-tude. Are there pointy saddle feathers? Nice red comb and upright stance....

Your pigs are really growing!

yay... rooster... lol. I hope he turnes out to be a nice rooster then. I wouldn't mind a roo is he is nice to me and the hens, but if he is a aggressive one, We will have a nice chicken dinner!
