Nevadans?

Wrap the chick lightly in a warm damp clothe (close to 98 degrees as possible) and pop the chick back into the bator.

He's very alert and now standing. Hes under Mama and I can still hear some very faint and very weak peeping. I hope he makes it because none of the other eggs have hatched

Oh poor baby! That's not his yolk sac. Looks like the vent area has prolapsed. I have no idea what to do in this case.

I thought I set mine the day after yours but they aren't due to hatch until Friday. The ameraucanas always seem to be a day early though and the marans a day or two late. So don't give up on the other eggs yet.

Thanks sunny. It looks very red in the photo but it is very yellow in real life. The end if it has started Hardening so I don't know. We will see what happens. Mama has him tucked under her wing at the moment. She's a very good mom so far, has she done this before?

Oh good to know. No she has been broody for awhile but I kept trying to break her of it. I finally gave in before we went on vacation and let her keep a clutch of eggs with a couple of other gals that were also broody but my parents came by to check on things to be sure our friends were taking care of the chickens and collected all of the eggs! I didn't warn them because I never expected them to come by!

She has been extremely persistent in her broodiness and I hope she finally gets to raise a couple of babies. She deserves it.
