You better stock up on food! Jersey giants go through it like no other chicken.

68?!!! You poor thing! I still bundle up at 68. It's too cold!

During the winter, we keep the house at 67 during the day - ok I keep it at 67 cause I cannot stand the propane bill (DH would keep it warmer) - but I wear tshirt and sweatshirt plus have a blanket for the couch/tv watching.

Summer I keep the house at a cool and breezy 79 and it is oh so nice - should it start feeling too cold inside, I pop outside for a bit.

Hurry up warm weather!

Yea I try to keep the heat down in the winter as well but I run around in heavy sweaters with thermal socks! When it's really cold I've been known to wear a knit hat and scarf inside the house! I save the coat and gloves for outside though.

Oh HorseFeatherz! I forgot to tell you that almost all of your babies have figured out how to get to the top roost of their brooder! They look sooo cute perched up there. The marans that are a day older haven't quite got the knack of it yet but they are trying.

68???? I'd be thrilled with that in the winter! It's a good thing we spend most of the daylight hours at work so we turn the house down to 58 from 7AM until 5PM. When we're home at 5PM the heat goes up to 62, then back down to 58 at 9PM until DH takes his shower at 6AM. He gets a toasty 60! And in the summer we don't even touch the AC until it's at least 80 in the house. We take advantage of the evening breezes to cool off the house. And then shut it up tight and pull heavy drapes across the south windows during the day to keep the heat out. A few more trees in the back yard (south) should help the summer AC bills soon.

I thought today, Tuesday, was a perfect weather day. It was warm enough in the sun to be working on our chain link trenching project, a bit sweaty, but the breeze felt good. Can we just have about 6 months of days like today, pleeeeeeeesssse?????
