Absolutly. Otherwise you'll be in bed wondering if they're too cold in the snow, then get all grumbly and have to put slippers on or somthing and check on them anyway at like 11:00.

I have this horrible habit of checking the opening post every time we get a new person.

You guys are making me laugh, something I'd forgotten to do today with all my nosing around this site and trying to figure out which breed is best.....the answer I came up with is all of 'em, so I think I'm going to start out with 3 of each....does anyone know anything about Meyer Hatchery? The only living thing I've ever had shipped to me is plants, which worked out ok......however shipping chicks is apparently common? My husband grew up on a farm in Eastern Montana, and he said that's the way his mother always got her chickens.....I just have visions of some big ole guys smoking cigars and throwing my box of fuzzy babies back and forth
