There you are VegasChick!
I'll try to answer in somewhat order.
The hatch went well... 32 shipped eggs to start, 20 into lockdown and 18 hatched. And my chick at 12:35 a.m. 1-1-12 won the 3rd Annual New Years Day Hatch Contest!
The final tally was 10 Salmon Faverolles and 7 Wheaten Marans and 1 TJ's Leghorn (I guess...who knows?)
Looks like I have to move before I'm allowed to have legal chickens. The City was good with it as are my neighbors and the Prez of the HOA, but I have one booger in the community who has sworn vengeance upon Yours Truly and is throwing a hissy fit with the HOA Board about my proposed coop. He will make my life miz and I have no doubt he'd file complaint after complaint after complaint until he gets his way or dies. (As the Code Enforcement officer said when I had a pow-wow up at City Hall, "We don't go around busting chickens. And most complaints on chickens are not about the chickens but because your neighbor doesn't like you.") So looks like I'll not be keeping any (at this time) which is kind of a bummer . But, on the other hand, I snicker at the fact that he'd probably stroke if he knew just how many chick(en)s have resided in the neighborhood already...and the number grows. hehehehehe
The chicks will be very easy to sex once they start losing their fuzz. The girls are white/buff and the boys sprout black feathers. The TJ's chick should be easy to tell, too, as the Leghorn boychix tend to start strutting their 'tude stuff and sprouting combs at a very early age, about the same time as the others will be sexable. Most likely at age 2-3 weeks.
Anytime you want 'em. PM me as to what works for you.
