Nevadans?

ROFL! Serious??? That's like when people ask what gluten is, and I tell them it's in wheat, and they say, "So you can't eat wheat bread but you can have white bread?" You're like... huh? Did you just ask that?

Today my landlady asked if we wanted to buy this house. Uh... YEAH! Not that we could... I could write up a whole "I am the 99%" poster for why we can't. But she said not to worry, because she's only going to sell if it's to us. She loves us, and wants us in this house. She's such a zen person, totally giving, and I thanked her so much for allowing me to work out of this house, to grow a garden, to have chickens. All of it allows me to parent these two special-needs kids and still make ends meet. I don't know if we'll ever be able to buy the house, but it feels so good to know that the gardens and chickens are secure along with us, and she's totally on our side.

We're doing a huge house cleanup today. Out with the old, and into the dumpster. I love simplifying things, even if it means just throwing away all of the old hot pads because my MIL gave us new ones for Christmas.

Have fun at the Stockton show. I'm jealous! How is everyone's Saturday going?

Reminds me of one of the stranger experiences I've had in Nevada. I went to look at some property in Crescent Valley (waaay out in the middle of nowhere!) - the whole town is surrounded by a barbed wire stock fence with cattle guards at each entrance. Anyway, the property was a ways outside of the town. I pulled up next to it and saw something off in the distance. I thought, that can't be what it looks like! So I grabbed my binoculars and, sure enough, it was a couple of emus out grazing on the range! When I went back to the general store in town for a soda I asked and they said yes, the emus had belonged to someone but they got out and were now free ranging.

Missy your gluten questioner sounds like the lady Laceynoelle sold eggs to, who was mad because there were "processed" eggs mixed in with the "homegrown" ones - turned out the "processed" were the white ones!

Hahaha. These stories are cracking me up.

Yes Dee the Stockton show is at the end of this month starting Saturday the 28th (set up on Friday the 27th). I hope your friends were just meeting at a local Starbucks to plan the trip cause if they are on their way to Stockton they are going to be mighty dissapointed!!!

This time my ameraucanas are coming from a breeder that puts temperament at the top of the list! These babies should be sooo sweet since her whole flock is mellooooooow.

Hmmmm, I guess I could hatch out a few if I only keep a lav boy in there...

Is your breeder local? I'm finding myself totally envious.
