Hi everybody! Hope you are all doing good. I haven't posted in awhile, i'm still alive though

. I decided to come look around and saw the new BYC and started wondering how long ago this happened and I'm just finding out. Knowing it just happened yesterday, I don't feel out of the loop as much as I already am!

Just a little update, I culled out my roo, he was beating up on the hens too much. figured I'd better get him out sooner than later. Really tasty though! I also bought a lamb, planning to get her bred next fall. We didn't think she was big enough to be bred this year, as she was just born in the spring. We still have our old horse. I'm left with 1 horse, 1 sheep, and 10 hens at the moment. Maybe get a couple this spring, not sure yet. They were laying pretty slow for awhile, I haven't been able to sell eggs in a couple months. the last couple weeks they have started picking back up so Hopefully I'dd be able to start selling again. all the eggs used during the holidays mixed with the poor laying just didn't work out. Still pretty dry up here. we got a little snow over the weekend, but noting much. this week has been the coldest week of the winter though, we are having to use the defroster in the mornings. This winter has been pretty mild and dry though, I am fine without a jacket most afternoons. Kinda weird, considering that some years we can't get out of the driveway in the beginning of December because of all the snow.

Odd layout for the page too, with the top half of the page cut in half with ads and reviews and the bottom full width. Just a new look I guess we are going to have to get used to. I do like the full editor at the bottom of the page though

Hi Jeeper! Yes this winter has been very dry!!! It has been cold here except for the past couple of weeks which have been very nice. Yesterday and today I was back to seeing ice in the dog's water by mid-morning even though it had been filled with hot water @ 5am. So we are back to more normal temps again.

LOL! I'm glad you figured that out Ron! I was thinking a Johnson bar. Well what they call a Johnson bar now has wheels but it used to refer to just a very large, heavy, pry bar. I use ours all the time to loosen up dirt in prep for post hole digging. Or I used to before my back turned traitor on me.

I haven't caught all the way up yet, but NO, not a post hole digger. we have one and a it's a piece of crap. it really does nothing useful with our soil. this tool is a long iron bar with a narrow pointy sharp end and then a flat circle on the other end which will be useful for tamping down the dirt. ok, now to catch up.

i was looking at the breeds and there was a new breed in devolopment called a Sizzle it is a silkie with curly( frizzle) feathers.
