Nevadans?

Sheryl don't worry! This thing was HALF the size of your cute little duckies!

Sunny that would be wonderful, thanks so much! Should I start saving the eggs now? Do you think some refrigerated ones would be alright?

Oh Seth you so amuse me! I guess you didn't read my post from earlier today. For some unknown reason I feel the birds of prey deserve to be here more than any walking creature of any sort. I would feel horrible if any of them get my birds but for some unknown reason birds of prey are not the same to me. I don't want my birds to die or anything like that, it's just that.

The birds of prey will not be killed by me! They deserve to be here, coons are not.

you all are always so chatty when I'm off for a day. I went to the doctor today. i have not been able to shake this sinus infection for a month so I got antibiotics. I don't like to take them except as a last resort but sometimes it is just what's needed to get better. Hopefully i'll be feeling normal in a few days.

so cute, Seth!

Yippie! The power is on! My son has been praying for snow since Christmas, and I think he over did it a little.

gorgeous shot. I really do enjoy the snow. it pretties everything up.

cheryl I found this post written today

http://www.redrockaudubon.org/nv-bird-feed/nv-birds/gyrfalcon-not-seen-today/

I e-mailed this guy about the bird i saw, apparently theyve been looking for him!

wow, that is amazing!

okay guys i heard back from the bird watcher. He said that the gyrfalcon theyve been spotting is grey, not white. He also said that if i am 100% positive about the coloring it was most likely a snowy owl.
I think this mystery will just have to remain unsolved.

Well since optimum temp for storing eggs before hatching is 55 degrees the fridge will degrade them some but it's still worth a try. TJs keeps their fertile eggs a little lower than that but not as low as we usually keep our fridges. We can try it though. A week is usually the longest I like to keep eggs before setting but I've kept them up to 2 weeks. It does effect the hatch rate though. I have a lot less hatch when they are older than a week.

So yes start saving them but don't refrigerate what you collect now. Any that you gathered in the last couple of days can go in too. It won't hurt to try the one's from the fridge.
