I haven't been on in a while with everything going on and trying to keep up is exhausting.
Anyway I just wanted to share that we got our first eggs from our (not so baby anymore) girls.
I have no idea which one(s) lay ed them but they were the cutest little eggs I have ever seen. I'm sure they will get bigger as the hens mature more otherwise we will need lots more eggs since these were a bit larger than an inch.
I'm not complaining though as I am really excited. I have a nest set up in there but they are not using it they just lay ed them where ever. Will they learn to use the nest or should I find a way to teach them???
My Geese are really obnochious with the warmer weather. They want their bath water right now and they won't simmer down till they get it. Oh and I think I may have a boy and girl. Gannet is very protective of Alex (which I guess is short now for Alexis!) and watches over her when she baths and eats. It's funny, since I removed all the male chickens the hens and geese have calmed down 90%. Anyway I just wanted to share in my good news. We haven't had any new eggs since but are hopeful.
