Thank you for asking about my ribs. They still hurt like there is no tomorrow and I am pretty sure at least one lung is partially full. I am having a really hard time breathing if I move around too much. Which is like talking to a brick wall when you try to get me to sit for more than 2 or 3 mins at a time. I am the Mom, as much as everyone would like me to take it easy there are only so many hours in a day and a Mom's job is something no one can just step into and do to the Mom's satisfaction.
And I am a Mom to 53 chickens, 2 English Mastiff (which if anyone knows this breed it is like having a 200 lb toddler constantly at your feet) girls, 2 boys (5 and 3 yrs. old), 2 kittens and then my DH. Plus let's not forget my business that I help run with my Dad who needs help constantly.
It's my bed and I do not get to lie in it very much but I do have to work around it as much as I can. I do not know if you would call it a good thing persay, but this will be the 13th time I have had pneumonia so I pretty much know what to expect and how to take care of it enough to keep it from turning fatal. But I must admit the older I get the longer it takes to recover. It is only the 4th or 5th I have had broken ribs on top of the pneumonia so that is always a PITA because on top of not being able to breathe normally, it REALLY hurts when you do breathe.
Anyway, enough about that... please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as Thanksgiving dinner is coming up and I have a lot to do the next couple of days.
Speaking of which,
AUBREY I have your dishes and carrier. I do not know if you went to work today in this mess but please give me a call around Noonish and let me know when a good time to drop those dishes off for you would be for you today.
I love all of the chicken pictures. And I really love the colouring on your new addition Aubrey. I was reading up on the Australorp and Wyandotte threads yesterday and I have to say WOW! Those ppl are super serious about their genetics. I love it!

Yes in theory, I know there is more to it than just breeding those two breeds together but I have been reading up on it for a several months now and I am really excited to get started. DH wants the Lavender Laced. He sees purple but not blue go figure hehe. I just ordered "Making New Colours: The Simple Way to Create New Colours and Patterns of Poultry without any Jargon by Grant Brereton." which was recommended by the Wyandotte group. I want to shore up the bird type first which is one of the reasons why I have the Australorps. I would like to get a good body type, egg laying consistency and temperament first and then start going for colour. I was also thinking of picking up a breeding pair from Foley's. They have some amazing stock this year. What do you think?
