I had never heard of xolos before. Very interesting!
When I was younger we had an Irish Wolfhound.
He was huge! 195 lbs. and standing on his hind legs he could put his paws on my brother's (6'4") shoulders and his head would be higher. They don't live long though...
I've always been partial to yellow labs. I found a place that sells "pointing" labs:
Ron my DH and I have wanted an Irish Wolfhound for years! The age length has always been a deterrent. This is my first small dog, I love him but will always have a big dog two.
Yea, according to my vet, larger dogs usually have a shorter life span.
I hope you all have a safe drive home! Take your time. (sorry to sound like such a Mom)
I spoke too soon this morning about our tiny amount of snow.
It was kinda funny, we got likt 6 inches up here in Kittridge, but when you actually get to Elko, there wasnt more than a dusting of snow. they predict we will have 9 inches by tomorrow morning, and if that prediction is for town, i dont even want to open the front door out here!
I am so sorry to hear about your dog... *hug* I do not think there is anything worse than losing a dog, except maybe a human child. They are about one and the same where I am concerned. We had Keeshounds growing up but I am very partial to English Mastiffs now. They are such great loyal family dogs and at least the ones I have owned have never been aggressive. Even with the chickens they are great. I felt guilty for days after I found out that it was the neighbour's cat that killed my two chickens and not the dogs.
I think I have posted a few pics of my girls on here but I am not sure if it was on this particular thread.
This picture was taken last month when they were 7 months old, already 150 lbs.:
Mystique and Phoenix, my boys (including my DH) are really into the X-men heh.
They really do not eat as much as most ppl would think, we go through about 50 lbs of food a month with the two of them. I am considering breeding the girls this summer. I would be happy with an English Mastiff Army, although my DH thinks it would be hilarious to get matching pugs. *LOL*
Well off to make breakfast, I have been so busy lately with building my hay storage area and the weather once again is not cooperating. The girls egg production has increased even more and even with donating 4 dozen eggs every week I still have a full fridge so I guess it's time to put up a CL ad to start selling.
only 50 lbs of food a month! elvis eats 40 lbs of food a month and hes only 65 lbs!
thats it, he is sooooo on a diet.
jeeper, im praying so hard for no more snow... my mommy and sister are in town and i promised to take them on the virginia city ghost tours on saturday. ill be so bummed if we cant go!
