augh! how frustrating!!!

btw sheryl, youre dog is wayyyyy cute!

Awe! Thanks Aubrey!

We have 3 eggs so far 2 from Sundae and 1 from Bella, not sure why Moniques not laying perhaps because we took her off the laying box when we picked her up, she might have been broody. She seems perfectly fine though roaming around the yard a few times during the day. She's not stressed at all from what we can see.

Thanks

Sheryl I think you may be right about the moving them at night theory. The two we moved at night have already laid for you and the one we chased down during the day hasn't (although marans' are not egg machines like some other breeds are).

Aubrey I'll have to read that Hawthorne story later when I'm not at work... I'll check in tomorrow.

Bye all!

Does anyone know how long it can take for a hen to start laying again? Monique seems to be happy, she literally ran out of the coop yesterday fluttering and enjoying herself the only thing is she hasn't laid an egg yet, I'm thinking Wednesday must have been a little hard on her moving her to my house, meeting the young girls which one of them decided to go on the attack and they both bumped their chests together and then putting her in an area of the coop where she and the others could not attack each other. We had to leave for a few hours and when we got back she had jumped over the beam of the coop where she was and we found her in the coop. Everything seemed fine when we found her and saw she was okay and so was the girls. I'm thinking it was more stressful on her then she let on though. How long should I wait for her to start laying again? What should I do if she doesn't?

, Yes Ron, I have a crock pot but she's not going in there! I have tons of patience, this lady

is so prestigious that she does not belong in a pot what so ever!

So it won't hurt her not to lay any eggs for several weeks then? I thought it was only up to a week?
