Nevadans?

congrats! We are in Stead in a subdivision but close to red rock road. We often take drives on red rock. Since we got bitten by the chicken bug, we've talked about moving out that way some day. however, with the current state of the housing market, (we're totally underwater on our house), it may be quite a long time!

Enjoy your new digs! Should be a perfect setting for chickens!

DH and I talked about the coop today and now it's going to be 10x10 and the run on the other side than i had originally planned. it should work out good though. I can't believe that DH is getting so excited about chickens. he's usually not too enthused about my projects.

That's awesome! My DH is crazy about the chickens too. In fact he's been moping around since I sold the flock saying the backyard looks lifeless without the chickens running around. He may not be great with remembering who is who or what breed they are but he loves them all the same.

I can completely relate to the upside down mortgage situation! It's bad news for most homeowners these days. They're stuck in a bad situation. http://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Sad/prisoner-039.gif

Yea Aubrey we had a similar situation with the last rescues we got. They were mixed (1/2 Chow Chow, 1/4 shepherd and 1/4 golden) and they were both loving but not very smart. The boy was especially challenged! He couldn't seem to keep himself out of trouble no matter what! His sister would even try to pull him away from something he was about to get in trouble for by gently mouthing his leg and tugging but he would just get mad, snarl and lunge at her and then go and do it anyway. Then he would look at us as if to say "didn't I do great"? Happy as clam and never understanding that the same behavior got him in trouble every time.

I know he was retarded and couldn't really help it but it has put us off of Chows forever! Plus they are a LOT of work to keep groomed and ours weren't near as fluffy as a full Chow is. Steve is partial to Shar-peis. They are sweet dogs for the most part but again not the type of dog to do what we need dogs for right now.

Thanks Tyler. No rush. Just send it when you get a chance. Yes I saw the book advertised here for chicken coop plans but we went to the library and on-line and got a ton of stuff for free instead. I'm not big on paying for stuff if I can get it for free instead.

I love getting free things. I loved that book I was so glad they had it at the library. I couldn't remeber if I got it from the Washoe county one or from the one in Texas.
I need to hurry my feet alnong in scanning it so I can post it in the coop section.

Ok DH is giving me that look that says "are you ever going to get off that computer?", so I guess I better get.

Good night all!

I thought the coop had to be built for a contest.
Maybe I will then.

I love the Kelpies but I will always go for a Border if I have to pick.

Boy you type fast! You're right, the coops do need to be built. You are going to build it some day aren't you?
