What a great memory for me...I won an airline ticket to anywhere I wanted to fly at that rodeo...ummm, some years ago! I was just beginning my country music career so I picked Nashville! That trip launched me into a career that I could have only imagined. And then I was offered a major label record contract and realized that leaving my husband and a 6 & 9 year old at home really didnt fit my description of family! But I can't tell you how upset I was when I saw that someone had scribbled all over my program! My sister grabs it and says that I must have won something! Great memories!

Looks great! I would definitely add the grow out brooder area to that corner you mentioned.

If you cover the growout area (to catch the droppings) you can still have some roosting space above for the main flock. The smaller birds don't need a tall roost nor do they need to be elevated. You just need to enclose their area completely so the big birds can't get at them.

That's a good idea, Sunny. It helps to have other people's perspectives on this. thanks!

Can't wait to see pics of the finished product!

70 years?!! Wow, that is really amazing! It's great when two people mesh that well. I'm very happy to not have stayed in my first marriage. Glad that folks aren't expected to tolerate abuse for the sake of a commitment these days but I still find it very touching to see marriages that last that long!

Drum roll please I have news on the APA booth

Here is the email both Aubrey and I got.

HI Tyler and Aubrey!
spoke to our club and they said yes you can set up an informational booth at our show. The only stipulations is you will need to provide your own table and chairs and have someone 'man' the booth. But this sounds like a great idea. We may have a few other booths there this year as well, we were contacted by a feed distributor!

Tyler you were voted in as Youth Show Secretary!! Congrats, I will be sending you info on various jobs you will be doing. Most importantly you will be available all day Friday and Saturday and possibly a special meeting too(we will need help with writing out and sorting cage tags for the show)?? Let me know.

Our next NNPFA meeting is 9/1/11 @ 6:30pm @ Round Table Pizza 185 Damonte Ranch pkwy.

also we are planning another Poultry Swap at Feed World soon. I will let you know...

Thanks Julie

I know exactly how you feel! I performed in the Bay Area for years but would never consider going on the road! One producer wouldn't let it go! He thought I was nuts to turn down an opportunity to audition and, if accepted, to tour the country. I was a single Mom at the time and enjoyed being a Mom a whole lot more than singing any day! I mean I love to sing but it is not nearly as glamorous as some folks think it is! You still have demanding bosses and the hours are horrible (I almost fell asleep at the wheel a few times coming home at 3 in the morning). And don't even think about getting sick! You're made to feel like the worst person on the planet if you dare to get a sore throat. I was expected to sing no matter how sick I was!

Relationships really suffer as well. It can be really tough on the significant other to take a back seat and sit back and watch all the fuss. Fans don't always have a good handle on what's appropriate behavior. I mean imagine never being able to take your S.O. out on a date on a friday or saturday night cause they work every single weekend. That's life for most any musician. My youngest brother toured in a Ska band for years and he loved it! Sleeping in the van and sometimes even on floors, far away from family and friends. Not sure why he considered it such a great lifestyle!

Course he didn't have kids but I think even if I hadn't had kids it would have been tough for me. I like being close to my family and friends and I like singing too much to starve for it! Very few musicians get rich at it.

BTW I didn't mean to sound negative about your dreams Tyler! I was typing my post for so long I completely missed your post, so none of that was in response to what you wrote.
