My showgirl hen is broody and shes only been laying for two weeks!

I threw her out of the nesting box and Petey chased her back in, "WOMAN! get back to hatching my spawn!"

all! Okay I need some serious help here! I feel sad whenever I leave the house to do anything. It makes no difference what it is I must do, go to work, go to a friends house or go shopping for whatever it is I need. I leave the last minute and I feel I want to stay home. When I leave from where I'm at I rush to get back home. What is going on here?

When I'm home I'm happy and enjoying everything I am doing as long as it's outside in the backyard. Am I just so hooked on the ladies that it's now taking over my life? I mean people at work are asking me when will this chicken fever you have go away? I tell them it's only been 6 months but it may even be contagious so don't stand too close to me or you'll be getting chickens before you know it!

Today I watched Bella run in and out of the coop trying to get away from Sylvia & Winnie because she didn't want them to attack her. They looked so puzzled at her, like what are you doing? If they went into the coop she ran out like a bat out of, well you know, and then when they came down into the run she would run back into the coop. Finally Sylvia just stood in the door way watching Bella in the run as Winnie just stood there doing nothing but watching her. Sylvia comes down from the coop and Bella runs back in. I just don't get it.

No one is picking on anyone anymore but Bella thinks they will be again. Who needs soap opera's when you have chickens, not that I even watch them.

So how long will I be like this?

Never. You'll think youve gotten over it then someone dies and it destroys your chicken world for a while.

yeah I sometimes do flyers for local punk shows and this is my latest sans the text. I got inspiration from my manly roosters!

and sheryl i think your love of your animals is healthy! It better than wanting to rush home to watch t.v. or sleep or something. I think The chickens make us all calmer happier people!

Hi guys!

Sheryl, maybe you should check out the chicken addiction thread somewhere in BYC! I think I have it bad too. Will probably only get worse. I keep waking up during the night thinking there are chicks on my nightstand.

We got all the siding on the coop today! I will post photos later of that and the chicks. Just took the chicks out for their first time outside. They liked it although I have one australorp that cheeped very loudly the whole time. Going to pick up pizza for tonight.
