Aubrey, my co-worker says to go to the Army Surplus store on 4th street and get a blow up boat instead for them and they won't be laughing at you either.

okay, i DO have a budget! LOL!!

That's why I love the cardboard boxes brooder. I just cut 2 large ones down one side tape them together, pull the flaps out on the bottom, put a heavy duty tarp on the floor and place the box on top of that. Put bricks on the flaps to keep the box from moving around, put sand and shavings on top of tarp and viola! Instant brooder. To clean just get help and carry the tarp out to the compost heap and dump. Hint if you wait to long to dump tarp it will get extremely heavy!!! I know I always wait too long!

okay i have to admit...roosters or not they are soooo freaking cute.

The red roo. He is very VERY brave, and likes to fend me off whenever i come into the room. hes a biter and has a huge personality.

but we probably wont keep him because I think the other red is a lady. but who knows. It is still awfully early. Shes nice though, and jumped onto my lap last night for a snooze.

then the sultans. i have a sneaking suspicion that theyre both roos, but only one is obvious for now. He is getting very red in his face, the other is not. I REALLY hope i get a pullet out of these two...

the barred rocks are HUGE! they are at least twice the girth of the others. I toyed with the idea of having a large rooster in the flock, but ive decided against it.

then there is my wcblue polish. he is the most physically obvious. It rally stinks too because i really wanted a wcblue pullet.

My frizzle! not so obvious unless you see him with the other frizzle.

And my wcblacks. The one with a lot of black on its head acts rooey, while the other is more reserved. Id be surprised if they werent both roosters though, since they look so similar. we shall see..

Where did you move to? I must have missed that on my hiatus.

Do you have acreage now?

We were only able to deep fry one half of the turkey. It still took 1½ hours even frying!

It was delicious though!

But the other half is in my oven right now.

Aubrey those chicks are soooo cute! You must have quite the eclectic flock going by now.

Oh those little roos are soooooo cute! See this is why I have so many roos here. I just love them.

Sunny I do the same thing. Nothing like a big box and liner. Then again Sewngrow (Karen) brought me 2 great brooders. I'm using one to house some of my quail for now and I still haven't moved the bigger one, because IZ need to move cages out into the yard and off of my back porch. Man I need all this done. I showed my SIL how much I've turned and he said "WOW thats a lot of work! Don't do too much and hurt yourself." Now he tells me. I hurt like crazy. LOL The good thing is he said it looks like I'm almost to the point that he needs to come in and do some irrigation for me back there. hehehe Poor guy is having more surgery though next week, so don't think it's going to happen to soon. He has to have his jaw broken and reset. I think he'll be recouping for a while.
