Nevadans?

Sheryl I used to breed a lot of exotics. I mean a lot. Anyway, I added cod liver oil to their feed. I lost a beautiful Macaw once and then it hit me I hadn't used the oil in months. She was the only bird I ever lost to egg binding. Another thing I've used since chickens was red wine and olive oil soaked into pieces of bread. Bill and I found that on line. One of my Davis FBCMs was bound when we got her. I fed it to all of them just to make sure it didn't happen to any others. She passed the egg the next day. I used to give it to them about once a week and Bill used to tease me about my drunkin chickens and how they'd get all excited when they saw bread until they realized it didn't taste the same. Anyway, a couple more things you can try.

Thanks Kim. I thought people were putting the Olive oil in their vent and I was thinking of doing that but the bread sounds better. I'll do that. She's eating and pooing. I just put her back with everyone so they don't miss her and then think she's new.

Hope she's feeling better this morning.

Well if you can't feel an egg it might be something else entirely. IDK what but some research might turn up another possibility.

If my chicken whisperer was around I'd ask him, but I've seen him once since I broke my wrist, so wow 2 weeks. Wish I was more help. Maybe it's an infection. Have you tried antibiotics?

I meant Poppy stew.

LOL! No, that won't be happening any time soon. I like Poppy too much. This spring he'll be going into the brood pen for a few weeks with the two Balck Am girls and maybe a couple of the EEs, also. I plan to get some sort of return on the investment in his feed!

I really don't want to post in the Emergencies /Diseases / Injuries and Cures forum. It can be an infection perhaps. Her tummy is very red and slightly room. I still have Pen-G, I can start her on it. It's worth a shot. If I post in the forum everyone is going to ask if I wormed them lately and this could be worms. It's not worms and I'm not worming her.

I was thinking infection as well last night when I saw her red tummy but she was in the really warm water. Her tummy wasn't red this morning.
