Oh Sheryl, I'm so sorry for Patty!

I did read your post Aubrey but it's not going to fix her. She has a tumor under her right wing. I'm going to call the UNR extension tomorrow and take her there. I need to find out what it is she has.

So sorry to hear about your hen and the tumor! Last spring I took a young cockerel in for a Necropsy and eventually they sent him on to the state lab. I work on the same property as the new Agricultrual offices and labs (Very nice facility they gave the 4-H families a grand tour)

It cost $30 for the Necropsy, they didn't find anything contagious but I had lost several young cockerels with what I thought was upper respitory infection, I ended up saving the rest with injections of Tylan 50, was a horrible thing, I was afraid it was something really bad too.....and it only affected my cockerels?!?!

Again Sorry for your hen!

Beautiful Wellie egg. I can't believe some breeders try to get rid of speckling. That's what makes it a Wellie egg.

Sheryl I'm so sorry about your hen. Maybe it's something fixable? Who knows, but I'm really sorry. I know you love her.

Thank you everyone. I was thinking the EYP and/or ascite until I found the tumor. I was reading the posts from everyone and decided to check her for a fever under her wing and there it was. It's the size of a silver dollar. All I know for sure is she isn't feeling well at all. The poor thing makes these sounds that I've never heard her make before.

Elizabeth, what a very pretty egg. I'm with Kim, why would they want to get rid of the speckles when they are that pretty? Very nice.

Elizabeth, I love the egg!!! My kids are going to freak when we get our first wellie egg.

Pigtail21, I'm so glad I saw your signature. Last night, my daughter was asking when we could go to a poultry show, and I told her we could go to the next Reno one, whenever it is.

Sheryl, how are you doing today?
