Never heard of grape leaves in pickles. Let us know how they turn out.I am looking to make pickles, many of the recipes suggest grape leaves... does anyone in the Reno area have a grape bush that I could snag some leaves from?
Update:
FOUND SOME...![]()
Awwww...
Thanks Missy! We are steadily getting stuff done but we are moving my Dad in this weekend so nothing will get done til next weekend.Sunny, I hope you can find another helper. I'll let you know if I have this next Thursday available. The client on that day sometimes cancles, sometimes doesn't.
Oh gosh no!!! Don't be silly! I'm never posting for help again if it's going to make anyone feel bad cause they can't help!I so hope Steve gets better. I still feel horrible not being able to help you both.

We will keep our hopes up and our fingers crossed for Jose to get a job quickly!!! Steve is feeling better already. Thanks!Jose has been applying for a bunch of warehouse/stocking type jobs now that the kids will be starting kindergarten at the end of the month. keep your fingers crossed. He's been out of the workforce for 3 years so it's challenging getting back in.![]()
Hope Steve recovers quickly, Sunny. I'm sure he's worn out from all the work of moving.

I was amazed at those little black(purple?) tomatoes too!Yeah I immediately noticed the purple tomatoes at Missy's place. My next project is definitely going to be the hoop house. I need to get my plants started much earlier (amd keep them going much later). I have some Cherokee Black seeds that I would love to try out.
What is the "Territorial" site Missy? (Just what I need - another gardening website to buy stuff from)![]()

HAHA! Funny!!!Hi all!
Been enjoying the tales of crop growing.... Right now my tomatillo is trying to hang on, but the peppers are doing great and I cannot believe I actually have a couple of tomatoes on the mystery unlabeled plants.... They're kind of heart shaped almost like an oxheart tomato (I do not think they're romas). Time will tell.
Thought y'all might enjoy the following, especially those with ag endeavors. It's gone viral and is one of the fun ones and IMHO the best of the week:
enjoy!
Bummer.Oh and by the way, my Olive Egger finally started laying this week...!!!!
and the color is!!!!!!........
...(drumroll please!)....
GREY. a very dreary shade of grey.
(oh here i am in between a pretty white, brown, and blue egg...how dreary i look.)
The lady must have not known that it takes a few generations to create an olive egg, and sold me some stupid expensive chicks from an F1. grrr!!!! I hate when people dont know what theyre talking about! I guess i should have asked more questions. I suppose ill just try breeding greggors to this bird and see how that goes.
how anti-climactic...![]()

Let me know how they work for you! I want these too!I just ordered two Add-A-Motor door openers for my coops. We can't go away for the night because the chickens need to be put away. My parents live next door but they go to bed before the chickens do so I hate to ask them to do it. Plus, we have to make an extra trip out to put them away also. We have horses so we feed them earlier and then have to go back out to close the chickens up. Can't tell you how many times, right before I fall asleep, I remember that I haven't closed the chickens up! I'm sure you guys relate.
From what I've read, people are very happy with the Add-A-Motor and I found them on sale for $74. I didn't order the timer, figured I could get that local and I think my husband has some 12V batteries to run them or I'll get those local too. Also interested in the solar chargers. These aren't as expensive as I thought.
A fellow BYC member has some of the Foy setups for sale but I only need the motor and timer and she has the doors too. Even used, they're out of my budget and I only saw one comment that was somewhat negative about the Add-A-Motor and that was because their door was too heavy for the motor rating.
Anyone have any experience with this product? I'm SO excited to get these. Having to open and close the coop and rely on someone to do it when we're gone is the only thing I can complain about chicken keeping.....well, that and having too many roosters....
No time for spell check. Forgive me all! Oh and another get together sounds awesome!!!
