Okie Doke just got online but i see you guys were here two hours ago, hahaha. I have internet back!!! yay!!! also our fence is almost finished HOORAY!!!!!!!
OK, I added the tree nursery, the two feed stores from Seth, and the Livestock Center. I changed the feed stores to yellow pins, green for the tree nursery (and any other gardening supplies you all come up with), blue for miscellaneous like Twin Cities, and red for the NNPFA show. Time for the rest of you to step up, people! If you submit something, add a review, too. Like that one feed store Missy's hens got sick from. We need to do the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!
I don't think it's your ADHD so much as the site - I've had that happen to me before, too, wherre I don't see a post that was before mine until after (sometimes a while after) I've posted. Even though the other post says it was 10 minutes before mine.
Ron that is great! We can add reviews too? Where do we go to do this?
Hahaha No I seriously have no idea how to create a link with anything other than the original URL. I have several places on those pages where I say "To return to the Nevada thread click here..." (followed by a long string of text and symbols). What I would love to do is just change the word here to a link back to this thread and save all that space. Certainly not vital but it's on my wish list.
Also I was a soup cook in the kitchen and have about a million soup recipes i can contribute. I make huge batches every winter and freeze and thaw. LOVE LOVE LOVE SOUP! it my thing
How did I not know this?!!! I have been dying to get some more soup recipes! It has been something I've been fooling around with for the last couple years. I still only have 3 really good soup recipes and I need many many more!!! Post away Darlin'! We are waiting with baited breath. Cold weather is coming up fast and we need SOUP!
Oh, me too! Glad you got the Internet back and the fence done. If you're going to do any lawn, it's a time for planting...well, at least in CA.
Sunny, the rest of the chicks are doing fine so far but I'm keeping them away from the flock just in case. There is one that is smaller like the one I lost so I'm keeping an eye on it, but I believe it's younger by one or two days.
Looks like we're all missing each other on here!
Haha I was sound asleep by the time you got on last night. That's good news though since I rarely get to sleep that early. I've slept well the last 2 nights in fact.
Does anyone here have houdans? And if not... why don't we??? I mean, THIS:
A couple people's names come to mind when I look at this picture.
ETA: You know... there are two highly rated sellers on Ebay offering houdan eggs, for $11.50-$15 shipping, current bid 99 cents in addition. We'd need someone with an incubator...
Do you think it's too late in the year? They'd hatch around mid-October, ready to go outside at the end of November.
Not too late at all! I like to raise up a fall hatch so that I have eggs coming all year long. I have not had good luck with shipped eggs but if you want to throw a few in with my next marans hatch that is cool by me.
Ha ha, My husband is not as supportive now that we have a neighbor breathing done our backs. He's making comments like, "they really are too loud" and I'm thinking, "now who's side are you on???" And then he's mad about all the flies. I do have one of the fly traps you fill with water but I haven't put it up yet. I am the worst procrastinator. There are just too many things on my list right now.
thanks for the work on the nevada resource page, sunny and ron and anyone else who contributed! I don't know of any other sources as of yet but when I have a little down time I will take a look and see if I think of anything to add.
You'll notice a huge difference once you get those fly traps up Elizabeth. Tell your Hubby those neighbors ought to be thanking their lucky stars to have a neighbor like you! I could tell you some stories about bad neighbors!!!
And you are very welcome. It's so exciting to see this thread taking off in this direction. I mean it has always been informative but to be able to find that info easily is HUGE!
It was the street 2 blocks downhill from yours, the big well-known one that crosses with the other well-known north/south one. (I think I'm just sounding really awkward trying not to reveal where you live on an internet board.)
This area we live in is full of chickens. Sunny once lived just a hop, skip and a jump from us and we didn't even know it. I never heard her roosters, we always heard someone elses rooster though. Leroy crows here and there. Some days though he will crow a lot but most days he just dilly dally's along.
Yep. I didn't have my roos for long though. Every one of them started crowing! hahaha Darn neighbors! Their dogs can bark all friggin' night long but a little crowing come daylight was a terrible thing!
Yeah Gregory and mr pants are like that. What's mOst important is that the rooster will challenge the intruder and make enough noise to alert Elvis. We must hope that any and all Roos will pull a suicide mission for th sake of the flock
BTW I think I fixed my internet problems! All by myself!!! (OK maybe I better not brag, it might be a temporary fix) I switched my browser to Google Chrome and it is working great right now! I'm so happy!!!
The probiotic I had mentioned to Sheryl from Dr. Nautra is enteric coated to survive the trip through your stomach acid (another feature the more expensive Align doesn't have!) and release in your colon where you need it. I was on powerful antibiotics when I was taking it and it still worked.
Hey Ron thanks for the info. After coming off a month of strong antibiotics these are definitly on my to do list! On top of that Dr. Natura is selling them through Amazon for less than $20 which is almost half price!!! YAY! Here's the link for all interested.

If anyone wants to be able to edit the map to add places and/or reviews, you need to PM me your email address so I can invite you to "collaborate" on the map.
Are we going to have to promote you to Computer Geek Sunny? Next thing you know you'll be creating cool short URL links!

LOL! Now that is funny! I used to be considered the company software whiz but that was 20 something years ago and I've been left in the dust since then! Back then Prodigy was considered cutting edge and you never saw what the final print would look like on screen. hahaha
One of my silkies was spending time on the nest this afternoon. She was trying to do an egg song and sounded pretty funny. Luckily it's not too loud. I didn't find an egg there yet but she's close. My Buff x wheaten was still on one of the straw nests (under the nest box) when it was bed time. could she be broody already? my australorps seem to have given up the broodiness now.
Elizabeth, are any of those S. Thermophilus, Lactobacillus Bulgaricus, Lactobacillus Acidophilus, Bifidobacterium, or Lactobacillus Casei? If so, I can help you save a LOT of money!

My buff x wheaten has been broody for over a week.
Wooohooo I got the pears done yesterday. Today I stewed plums off the pits, dehydrated half of the leftover pears, put green beans in the freezer, and made peach butter and plum jam.
This was today's work at 10am:
By 10pm I had a good chunk of it knocked down. And someone left a lost, lonely bag of peaches at my door. Poor thing. I guess I'd better find them a tasty home.

Sunny, glad you figured it out and that Google Chrome is working for you!
Those of you who are feeling punky......hope everyone feels better soon. Maybe this will cheer you up! We have all 5 of the grandkids this weekend (my daughter and her husband are doing Tough Mudder
) so I thought they'd like to make these. I'm going to take them to a Halloween party too.
