Nevadans?

Mama is still alive this morning. The most I could do is set her up in the house with some egg yolks and water. All she did was stare at it though. No interest. She's completely Pale and just a bag of bones. She's dizzy, I can tell- her head is very wobbly. Mark has a half day today. He is going to make a yogurt/beef baby food mix when he gets home and just force feed her as much as he can.

Okay went home and force fed mama some yogurt and baby food. She looks worse. Kept nodding off and bobbing her head. After about a full jar of baby food her crop still felt completely empty.

I have also used several other things. If they aren't interested in food but drink only, appetite stimulants... alfalfa and blueberries. I make a tea with the alfalfa. In the alfalfa tea, I mix some protein powder, like a fitness buff might use to get some nutrition in her... the wobbly head thing though scares me. I'll still try to help though. Blueberries are frozen but I cut them up as the lighter inside is more appealing.

High calorie nutritious stuff like cheese. I also use cooked rice because it is anti-diarrheal, so are blueberries. Are your egg yolks hard boiled? Try not to make a paste out of all the moist foods, keep it on the dry side. Add more crumbles of some sort. Even if she picks everything else out of it, at least she would be able to find stuff in a drier mix.

I saved a chick, "stitch" if you remember, by mixing raw egg yolk in some chick crumbles.

Feed often as compared to giving her a lot. This visual is stimulating too. Oh my gosh, I feel panicky, are you keeping her warm, more so than just being in the house?

Yep she is already in the green runny poop stage. Feeding her anything solid at this point is not an option. She isn't even drinking on her own, much less picking at any food. I'll try blending some fresh blueberries into her yogurt baby food mush. I choose the beef in gravy baby food because it's the highest fat content. I have the egg yolks (scrambled not boiled) in front of her with some torn corn tortilla crumbles and regular feed crumbles on top but she didn't touch them easier. I would feel better about being able to feed her every hour if I could be home right now. *sigh*. I want her to make it so badly but I know from the time before that I may be prolonging the inevitable.
Last night I gave her piperazine and I am really fighting the urge to put WAZINE in some water for her and force feed her it but I don't know if it will make things worse

I wouldn't do that. If you read the bottle on wormers it says not to give it to a bird in a weakened state.

It's probably not worms. Just a digestive upset that has been missed and gotten out of hand.

I would stress the yogurt more than anything else at this point. Keep her warm. Do you know anyone close by who has time to help? I know you guys over there are pretty good friends and its nice to watch the banter fly back and forth but are any of you others available to help? It doesn't have to be every hour but maybe 4 or 5 times a day, including morning, evening and lunch times. If someone or two others could come by mid morning and mid afternoon to even just stir the food in front of her, maybe she'll eat a little bit.

I know that would be a hassle for most of us but it would only be for a day or two to get little Mama back on her feet... if she makes it that long.

I don't think there are any issues with contagion here, just a digestive upset.

Really you think so? What about all the weight loss?

Markie is home now an ill be home in three more hours thank goodness I also have the weekend off. Good idea asking for help though. My neighbor is a stay at home mom so ill ask her if she can do it Monday and Tuesday. Good idea on that

The house is about 75 * right now and I have her next to a south facing window near the sun. I hope that's warm enough. If not I'll call mark and have him figure something out. He is on his way home now.

I'll keep up the yogurt. I can maybe even use the blender to mix in the egg yolks and other fatty goodies thanks for the advice

75 is good, and by the window is good, just make sure the sun doesn't shine directly on her because she won't be able to get away from it and that would be as bad or worse than being too cold. Tonight though, if she makes it that long, could be too cold, unless you keep your heater on. I just use a low wattage light bulb directly over the box they are in. Don't worry, she'll be able to sleep with the lights on.

The weight loss is from not eating for however long this has been going on. They eat a lot in their natural, healthy state, like constantly if they have the range available. So, instead of consuming what she has been eating, her body is consuming itself.

edited to add: I put the light bulb in one of those you would use for chicks that will reflect the light and heat downward.
