OK I'm not sure if that discussion has been put to a stop, so I'm going to answer the question that was asked.
Sunny, we use smudge and burning of sage of everything. LOL It's used before and after prayer, to chase away evil, to invite good energy. I was always very good about doing my burnings and maybe my life sucks now, because I've only done it a couple of times since Bill died. I've felt very defeated losing him. The great thing about having him around was, he enjoyed learning and participating in my culture. He loved learning about other cultures even before we met and that started when he was in Vietnam. He lived among the people and learned from them. He had smudge sticks when I met him and tried to teach me about them. I just kind of smiled and said "now you want me to teach you how WE do it?" His sage and vessel are still right where he left them on our dresser. I haven't touched them. That takes will power for me. Modesto is sooooooo dusty! LOL
I believe that every religion has it's time and place to celebrate. I don't say "Happy Holidays" I say "Merry Christmas." I figure if we had tribes that were exterminated so that men on ships could find a place for freedom of religion, that everyone should be able to have just that. Sunny knows a secret about me. One other person knows it too on these boards. I think with me it's a more spiritual involvement and there are way to many things that can happen in your life to prove that spirits do exist. How could they not? We were sent here in spirit, not in a body. I believe in spirits in plants and animals too, but I eat them. In the end our bodies feed the earth, so we're all basically lunch.
That being said, when I bartended, I had a rule. No talking of religion or politics! WHY? I had to break up more fights over the 2 than I did when I had 9er and Raider fans together. BTW, I bartended for a Mormon lady.
If something is not supposed to be talked about, so be it. So do we talk about them or not?
I'm always up for a good ghost story. I have many and they started when I was a very little girl. Whether you believe or not, the choice is always your's to walk away or not post or read those posts. These threads are to share and make friends and that's why I love this thread in particular. So many different people who live in different ways and who still share and get along. I love it here. I wish the California thread was just like this. It is at times, but it's days between posts sometimes and that's sad. Almost makes me want to move near you all. ALMOST! I'm already too cold here this weekend and I sure hope I don't have to move to a cold area just to have the life I want to have. buurrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, I have only 2 live chicks from my last hatch. Humidity issues. Have another hatch due the 28Th. And we have a new addition to the family that I was none too pleased with, but majority (ahem) rules, so we now have an about 7 week old kitten. I hate cats! Evil little things. This one has the nerve to think I like it or something. Always has to have a paw on me. Icky!
OK, I'm going to wait on my story. If I can't share it I won't. But it was something that made me feel like I'm not totally alone and being watched over.
