Never say never

If you leave him in the cage just put a tarp over it and put the cage behind your cars tailpipe. Start the motor and come back later. Very humane and painless. They just fall asleep.

PS I hope you all don't feel that I'm a crazy lunatic looking to kill all animals. But sometimes things need to be taken care of.

I am totally with you on wanting to make sure he can't pass the diseases and problems that raccoon carry. They will euthanize him and I won't have to worry about being bitten.

Unfortunately there was a town in Southern Utah that used the technique you describe here to dispatch their unwanted cats and dogs at the animal control office. It is not humane and not quick. I would go buy a gun before I would do that.

A gun is best, I was under the impression that you would not be able to fire a gun in your neighborhood. That's why I suggested alt methods. But if they put the animal down all the better for you. Hope you don't get any more visits in the night. good luck.

The animal control officer left about a half an hour ago.

He euthanized her before taking her out of the cage.

She was fairly young, hadn't had pups yet.

I wonder how often I should set the trap? He said they are getting thick around here due to construction making them move.

I would rather be proactive rather than reactive since I would be reacting to an attack on my girls.

Thoughts?

set it as often as you want to empty it
