I know, I am not great at genetics and am wondering how 2 breeds both with yellow legs could produce slate legs...is it possible?Those are slate legs, which are normal for solid black chickens.

oh...the orphington had slate legs, i am guessing he is the dadHere are the roosters. The hens are Buff Orpingtons and Silver-Laced Wyandottes.

No. Lavender x buff would give black chicks with large buff patches (one could even say buff with patches of black).could the mom possibly be another orphington...or were the buff orphingtons seperated out
