Here are the roosters. The hens are Buff Orpingtons and Silver-Laced Wyandottes.

could the mom possibly be another orphington...or were the buff orphingtons seperated out

She told me that she'd separated them by breed 3-4 weeks before collecting eggs to hatch. Lavender Orpington with the Buff hens, BLRW with the SLW hens.

No. Lavender x buff would give black chicks with large buff patches (one could even say buff with patches of black).

The adults in the run are very curious about the babies but I made sure that they can retreat well away from any possible pecking.

I might pull some of the battered tarp/plastic off the coop that came with them, which needs repair anyway, and make a second layer of weatherproofing over the windward end of the dog kennel since it's supposed to be rainy overnight.
