Welcome on board! Glad you are joining us! How many days for duck eggs? Nice job on your bator...I am the same way, check all the time! This is my 3rd hatch! I have 15 chicks rigt now, What do you do with the ducks?

Thanks for the welcome! I'm thrilled to have some company while I go through this. (especially being that it's my first time)

The ducks will be our pets with the added bonus of fresh eggs.

OMG! I dropped an egg! I was turning them and one slipped out of my hand and broke one in the bator! So now 22 eggs in my bator and I feel terrible!

I worry every time I turn mine that I'm going to do the same thing.

Thanks! I have Cayugas, Runners and Swedish. I'd like to try a few chickens some time in the near future. Not sure what kind yet though.

Candeled some eggs that are on day 4--- 8 of 8 were fertile and viable with happy tiny dancing babies!

This is what I posted yesterday on another hatch thread...But my last 40+ should be right in line with y'all (I even set 2 ducks of the 13 total yesterday to go along with the other who has ducks

) Do I fit in? My hatch is staggered from 5/30 to 6/14.

YESTERDAY 5/17...

I just set 43 MORE eggs today. PLUS, I had my 1st hen go broody today too, so 4 of those eggs are under her!!!! I let her keep her own from today & gave her 3 Banty eggs that came in my BYM shipment yesterday. What is so funny is that ALL 4 of the roos in that pen have been sitting in the coop with her most of the day "guarding" her...LOL She is a tiny little Banty mix (she looks like a BCM, but lays white eggs). And my main roo also looks like a FBCM but is a Banty. I think maybe I got OEG Banty/FBCM mixes. Very pretty birds. May make them my project.

Here is what I put in today:

2 Black East Indie Ducks
2 Coronation Sussex
16 BYM (3 went under my Broody)
1 OEG Banty mix (mine-under the Broody)
3 Rosies (BYCer project bird)
