Here are my first chicks to hatch. Tiny Golden Seabrights. I have 4 so far and am thinking they will need to get out of the bator before the big chicks hatch. They are so little they might get squashed by the big guys. I am so thrilled to have chicks hatch.

those look like very well behaved chicks....just sitting there! Mine flop all over the bator! I got 2 more during the night..still have 6 eggs with no action...but I didn't candle so they may not be viable ...but will give them until tomorrow. My boyfriend helped on out...but I think he did it way to soon and the chick wasn't ready..it died a few minutes after being out. So out of 21 eggs that I started with I have 14 live chicks! I'm happy! I have silkie eggs coming in the mail and over a dozen polish crested eggs I've collected...so at the end of this week I will start all over again!

Silkies and Polish - I'm jealous!

I have a trio of beautiful white bearded silkies that are 16 weeks old. Maybe in a couple months I will have eggs from them I can put in the bator. Love Silkies, they are so sweet.

So exciting to see everyone's chicks! My hatch it going well. I've got 28 out of the shell, one zipped, one almost out, and 12 eggs with no pip or any action from what I can tell. I'll give them a couple of more days I think, once these last two are out, I'll take all the chicks out and into the brooder though. When all of them are in there, I'll take a picture.

I am very excited about the silkies! I've been wanting them...so I will be real nervous with the next batch! The polish crested just crack me up...can't wait to have more of those too!

I would give them another day. I have 7 that have done nothing but I have had an egg pip in the last hour or so--and I am on day 22 too.

Great! Thank you. It's kind of like the lull in the storm. 28 chicks in 24 hours. Still waiting on one that has been zipped for awhile. I can see him/her moving around, s/he just needs to get the energy to kick, kick, kick!

Awwww! I havent caught a single one hatching out of my 10, most likely because I have been at work since last thurs! I had 3 pipped when I got home last night then by noon today they had hatched, I have 4 others pipped with one upside down again... So far I have 3 black sex links, 4 frizzles and 3 silkies.
