New batch of Cornish Cross

Wolfwoman,
I know we started off the same day with our CornishX (hatched June 16). I have 25 in the freezer now, butchered Saturday at 9 weeks 3 days old. The packages of meat average over 6 pounds each. I have 12 more for this next weekend. When are you gonna process yours, or have you decided yet? I did not weigh the birds live, before butchering. Maybe I will for this next batch of 12.

I just started 2 days ago, will do a couple more today. As I am the only one doing them while hubby minds the store, it's a rather slow process. I'll keep doing them a few a day til I am done... I just looked back and mine were born 6/15 and are 12 weeks today. I would have done them sooner but with the rain and losing Willow and a bunch of other things there just wasn't time.

That's the hard part for me, too .... finding time! I ended up having an Amish family do my processing for me. I might be able to do the rest this weekend. If not, I will have them do these also.

Im going to do 5 Oct2nd for PurpleChicken
Oct 3rd Ill do 10 because I had promised out to sell some to a few friends
then the rest at 11-12 weeks for me. I hate dragging all the equipment out for only a few:-( shoot who knows-depending on how well the processing station at chickenstock is I might do them all but only if their wieghts are decent.

My stuff stays outside... lol Processing cone is attached to the house, the plastic table isn't bothered by weather and the turkey fryer and pot stays out anyways. All I have to get are my knives.
