NEW Beautiful (insert color here) Muscovy (pics pg.1 & 2)

yay!! congrats on your new duckies!!!!

no quacking for muscovies!!!!! my drake sounds like a broke squeek toy, my female honks at times it sounds like so he makes another noise but i can't really explain it and they both hiss at my mom and the cats

He's just Gorgeous!

He is a Blue-Fawn, but the more pastel-looking version i guess you could say.

Here's a picture of 1 of my Blue-Fawn hens, same exact color as him:

OMG! How GORGEOUS IS SHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are blue fawns fairly rare? Or a more common color?

I have only had/known of them the last 3yrs. I had one in my first batch but didn't know what her color was...i just called her my blue chocolate hen

The hen in the picture & her sister were the first i have seen of the more pastel-looking version, I have a chocolate drake to breed with them so I'm excited to see what comes of it. I know with my darker girl i should be getting Chocolates & Blue Fawns(like her). I imagine they might be a little darker since the drake is a really nice Chocolate.

The other light colored hen i have is colored more like your drake, much less white than her sister.

OMG Lisa, hubby will be coming home to a whole new zoo!! Poor guy, every time he leaves, he comes home to new animals! ROFL!!

Your boy is a Self-Blue or Lavender. Blue Fawn, what I learned as Lilacs, are a cross between Chocolates and Blues (Lilacs more correctly are what you get when you breed two Blue-Fawns together). Actually Blue Fawns are Chocolates with 1 Blue gene. Self-blues are actually a pastel as are creams. Blue Fawns will have lacing, Self-Blues do not (hence, the Self - aspect).

***ETA that yes, this bird IS PIED. He is a self-blue pied drake. I did not mean to imply that there was no white to him, simply that the color part (hopefully everyone knows what white looks like) is self-blue as opposed to what others had suggested he was. If this was presented and/or interpreted differently, mea culpa.***

I didn't know self blues came in pied too, all the ones ive ever seen were solid. Both of my hens this color have a light chocolate tone to their feathers under the right light(alomost uddy-looking you could say), is that correct too? Don't take that the wrong way, This coloring is new to me so i'm just trying to learn more about it. From what i read online, Blue-Fawn is what she would be. By no means do i mean to sound argumentative. Thanks
