HOW YOU ALL ARE .
I WAS TOLD I NEEDED AN ENRICHMENT PROJECT
to keep me interested in life . i chose fowl .. i have raised back yard birds before . this time i chose to invest in a incubator and fancy pheasant eggs , lady amherst and yellow golden . both identified as good for a beginner ..then flipped out and have a quantity of peafowl eggs inbound .
pheasant eggs arrived unbroken , they are in a nice new incubator ... day 7 of 23 ...kinda behind the power curve on this , intend to brood them in the bathroom , working slowly on pens in the front yard ,, old man sure could use a helper . ,,
this will be some good fun i get a hatch on these eggs , brood in the bathroom pen in the frontyard
then the peafowl eggs inbound , gotta love those peafowl ... i understand that one can imprint these birds [ pheasant ? peafowl ,, at hatch , really make pets out of them . let us see how it works with the pheasant and the peafowl ,
i rekon i try to go find string this network on hatching ... here is my favorite image lady amherst cock in full display https://www.jungledragon.com/image/131094/faisn_de_lady_amherst.html

ty .. i was looking somewhere to post about this , quite audacious endeavor , maybe get some help .. i do not call it a hobby , i call it an enrichment project , this is one of those projects , order before fully planned ... just execute ,,,, never did no incubation before ,, got a nice unit in hova -bator .latest type 1588 ..not a cheap project . those pheasant eggs run you upwards 20 something dollars an egg ..they arrived later than expected , unbroken , i let them rest a day after shipment then to the incubator , perhaps i should of candled them ,, i did not , now at day 7 .. i think advice is to candle them at day 10 but i doubt my ability at that ,, hold temp about 99 F and humidity about 54 % about day 18 0r 20 , remove them from the turning device and run the humidity up , maybe i will get a hatch . hah , my plan is to brood them in the bathroom ,, that will be some fun , what with the cats . then to pens in the frontyard , currently being fabricated , my front yard is a meadow , knee deep in crimson clover ... so incubate 20 days , brood 20 days .. then jesus save me the peafowl eggs due in .. ..

:frow Hi! You sound like a fascinating individual! You jump right in with both feet, don't you! :lau I only hope you will start a thread showing off these beautiful birds at hatch and throughout their development, it will be fascinating! Really looking forward to it. It will certainly be an enrichment project for the rest of us to follow along, not just for you. 😊 Pleasure to meet you, sir, thank you so much for joining!
