New Boy , TN highland rim @ Land between the lakes

i have plans for pens Galore , i like the quick fit hippy done , 1/2 inch pvc pipe . rebar stakes . tees , 4way couplings , pond netting
allthose materials very inexpensive .
drive the rebar in the ground . fit the pvc to it and Bow it over , use the tees and 4 ways to couple up the pvc frame ,, build a door frame .. spread the pond net , or bird net , lots levels quality on those products ,, wham bam thank you mam , quite a large fly pen ..
old man can not do that alone . and you know one can not hire help anymore. it would tale 2 or three individuals to execute that..

example : https://ladyleeshome.com/diy-pvc-greenhouse/

replace the green house film with pond or bird net . ,, i have made pvc frames like tht before when i was a young man of 60 easy done .. seems like that would be quite the nice fly cage ..
i have other field expediency pens in my pocket but i need at least a safety observer and or helper on execution ., sorry , no help available , no one willing to help an old man .. can not even hire help ...
so for my pens i have Amazon shipped in china built wire frames . not so expensive , perhaps they will be adequate .. 40 inch by 40 inch by 86 inch , and a 40x40x130 ... seem nice . seems a problem to me the wire gap is 1 1/2 inch , so i am making an application of chicken wire around the bottom ,
working slow on that . i rekon those birds might like pens in the front yard in knee deep crimson clover . i kinda wonder ow big those little birds will be , out the brooder .. i am worried about the heat and sun , ... my plan is to cut some of my timber bamboo , make a frame around a nice hedge plant at the front porch , put net around it ,, very nice evergreen hedge plant with very nice roosting shaded all day ..connect to the pens .. 200 inches of run , not got the first 80 inches run set yet,, much less the custom bamboo frames around the hedge ,, ... then consider , i am at day 10 incubate , then brood for 20 days .. perhaps i will make it .. Just in time ,, sure would be nice someone come maybe help .. what ya doing old man, fixing up for these birds ,
You've got this! :thumbsup

first hatch old buddy .. always a positive remark from this group,
day 15, lock down in 3 or 4 more , temp running 99 . ++ humidity about 50 ++ . i try to keep the smallest chamber with water , when i lock down understand i need to bump humidity so i will load the next up ,, did not candle but i do the smell test , smells good .. it will be good fun after the hatch . brood in the bathroom and have killer cats in the house , rekon brood chamber for 30 days ? maybe more idk,, then to the pens . in wonder how fast these peepers willgrow out
pens have 1 1/2 inch gaps . i am laminating chicken wire foot and a half up around the bottom , quite the custom craft work the way i do it . working pretty slow at that . pretty nice little pens i think , 40x40 inch segments , small and light enough an old person can handle and maneuver them . lots doors , which is a chore when one is laminating chicken wire on them , custom work,

maybe i logged on the wrong site , i am not doing backyard chickens , i am doing FrontYard Pheasants .. Lady Amherst and yellow golden . i am way behind the power curve ,, got 8 each select peafowl eggs due in ..i forget when , i have 210 inches pen in process but no fly pens , sure do need some hippies to come by help , i could whoop up a fly pen real quick , 25x50 nets seem readily available .. now that is back yard work ,

not a lot of current traffic there , perhaps i can enrich it , with my enrichment project ,i already feel quite enriched , got the gumption to log on here , got a reason to get out of the rack , look at the eggs ,when the hatch comes and i get peepers i might well be overwhelmed with enrichment ,.so i am at 15 in the incubator , another week i should have a hatch and peepers, then 10 june got 8 select peafowl eggs due in 30 day incubate on those ? , and no pen finished yet .. the little girls across the street [ little girls .. thats 30 somethings ] said they would help me with my birds , no help forthcoming yet. i will keep you posted . just imagine my excitement when i get a hatch a blessing from God , little biological pellets emerging Lady Amherst and Golden Pheasant

HOW YOU ALL ARE .
I WAS TOLD I NEEDED AN ENRICHMENT PROJECT
to keep me interested in life . i chose fowl .. i have raised back yard birds before . this time i chose to invest in a incubator and fancy pheasant eggs , lady amherst and yellow golden . both identified as good for a beginner ..then flipped out and have a quantity of peafowl eggs inbound .
pheasant eggs arrived unbroken , they are in a nice new incubator ... day 7 of 23 ...kinda behind the power curve on this , intend to brood them in the bathroom , working slowly on pens in the front yard ,, old man sure could use a helper . ,,
this will be some good fun i get a hatch on these eggs , brood in the bathroom pen in the frontyard
then the peafowl eggs inbound , gotta love those peafowl ... i understand that one can imprint these birds [ pheasant ? peafowl ,, at hatch , really make pets out of them . let us see how it works with the pheasant and the peafowl ,
i rekon i try to go find string this network on hatching ... here is my favorite image lady amherst cock in full display https://www.jungledragon.com/image/131094/faisn_de_lady_amherst.html
Welcome to BYC!

Day 24 | I have never done this before . i see the tiniest flake of shell in the tray by one egg , Pip thats Pippin !
i leaned very near the vents in the incubator and called in a high shrill voice " P 'P 'P PIP PIP PIP P Birds .. i think they hear me.

i have a booklet circular 514 from Clemson Raising Bobwhite . very helpful .

at first detection all i saw was a 5x5 mm chip , i called , 20 min later i see something dark protruding . hummm . pippin then zippin . i feel enriched .
