New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

Of all six eggs that were under Jill, I just tossed the last one, which I allowed to keep going even after hatch day was over, for 3 days, even, just because it was still moving slightly and I had no others. All infertile except two, one mal-positioned late death and the only chick that would have made it was crushed as it was zipping my the newbie mama, who obviously didn't get what was happening to her. So, no chicks.
Obviously, Bash's recent issues affected his ability to father chicks. I hope this was a one-time thing. Certainly, the Brahmas have always hatched well before this.

And he may be fine again later. Illness can temporarily affect fertility and viability.

I have read that and I hope that was all it was. He seems much, much better now so hopefully, fertility and viability will be back up to par. Whether or not I want to hatch anything, I really hate not having the option, just in case.

I can join this thread :D... I have a Light Brahma... her name is AussieChick (Lilly)... named for my Aussie friend on here... she is 16 weeks this week and is the leader of her little group...

That's okay, I used to have a Lt Brahma from the hatchery, Miranda. She passed at 5 1/2 years old. Her "sister", my Buff Brahma hen, Caroline, lived until almost 10 years old. You can post here, it's not a private group! I just started it to document the progress of this new batch of Partridge/Blue Partridge Brahmas I hatched from a breeder in NY. Now, they're 3 years old.

Thank you... I was enjoying reading and watching your vids about Bash... how is he now?
