New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

I've got some BBS partridge brahmas hatching now :) I added the color for a project I'm going to be working on, and also yours are just gorgeous and inspired me, so I'll be keeping a breeding pen for the partridge colors, too.

If I posted pictures of the chicks, would you mind helping me with which are blue, splash, and regular partridge? All three are a possibility.

I just need the plain partridge for my project, but I'll definitely be keeping some blues and splashes too.

You won't be able to differentiate the colors of chicks until they are getting close to a month old. They have to feather out a lot to do that. An occasional exception is a splash that is sometimes very light colored with no chipmunk stripes showing, but even that is not foolproof. Of course, I'll help you, though!

Thanks! There are some that already look lighter than the others, so it sounds like those are possibly splashes.

They could just be blues, though. I don't see many splashes. It's the same as with the blue/black/splash. The splashes hatch the least of all the other colors. I mean the splashes are almost yellow-light. But, time will tell!

I can be patient and wait, lol. After hatching emus, I have developed a lot of bird-related patience, haha.

But I'll still probably post pictures of the chicks, since they are very cute :)

There are six little Brahma chicks due to hatch this coming Monday. There were seven, but somehow an egg broke on Day 14. Poor little chickie. Anyway, Brandy is always a great broody and I can count on her to do her best with the babies. And none are staying, already have someone buying them when she's sick of motherhood in a few weeks.

Brahma babies are hatching today! Three out, three to go (all pipped). Brandy is, of course, Super Mom, and doesn't mind some human co-parenting. If the 7th egg had not broken on Day 14, she would have probably had 7 chicks on her 7th hatch. She's a treasure, that hen.
