New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

Pics
She got her BR pair today and told me that she adores her cockerel. Plus, she named her blue pt girl "Caroline". Oh my, makes me miss my Caroline, who is the main reason I wanted more Brahmas.

I thought that of the 7 week old chicks, that I had three partridge males and the splash/light blue guy, but it seems I have two partridge males, one blue partridge male and the splash partridge male. They should be going to a new home tomorrow, if all goes according to plan. Anyway, these are not all that hard to find homes for if that buyer changes her mind.

What do you think of the light boy now? I can't see this being anything except splash. I mean, he's white! And scruffy-looking. Ought to be called Patches!

It works like blue, black, splash, with straight partridge being the black. So you breed two blue partridge birds, you can get blue, black or splash partridge. It just adds the pattern to the color, basically. I wanted a blue partridge Brahma rooster from the first time I saw a picture online and thought, WOW!

The eight Brahma chicks are going to a new home this afternoon, same person who bought the trio and just bought the Barred Rock pair from me yesterday. I think she's getting them all-I told her that she could take any number of pairs rather than all eight like the original buyer was going to do, but I believe she wants all of them to grow out and pick her breeders from later. Good thing they're going because I'm beginning to become attached to the dominant partridge male, who follows me around and runs up to me and stands perfectly still for me to rub his chest. And the splash boy is so wussy, he's adorable. He's the largest male, but so mild-mannered and always the loser in sparring, LOL. Those two, I love! And I know their new mom will, too. It's always the boys I fall in love with, always. Sweet roosters tug at my heartstrings. But, anyone who knows me knows that.

They left with their new mom just now. She was amazed at how sweet and friendly those two boys were. She's going to have a heck of a time choosing breeders! She said she may just have a bachelor pen so none have to leave. But, she also got hatching eggs on top of that.
