New Brahma Group: Blue Partridge x Partridge, Plus Dark

Reminds me of that first beach scheme from Jurassic park when the little girl sees all the raptors.

What is that lighter one and why is it so much fluffier already?

That is the splash girl and the girls are usually much more fluffy than the boys at this age, much more foot feathering.

Have you had a splash before? I don't recall seeing one. I like buff for coloring so of course it catches my eye.

Yes, once a male hatched here. Others have gotten them from the hatching eggs.
Here was the boy:

The buyer wants to put off picking them off because she gets nervous driving in the rain (she's 2 hours away) and she says she knows the price bumps up after Tuesday and she's willing to pay it. So I said that was fine, but I can't hold them more than another week without putting them back up for sale. I don't like to hold birds at all, especially for folks I don't even know. Flakes are everywhere and I'm feeding a lot of hungry chicks right now so hopefully, she'll get them by next weekend.

The almost five week olds are wanting to roost so we made a temp roost, no screws or brackets required. This should do for a short period. I now have 12 chicks in that coop, 6 Brahmas, 6 BRs. You can really tell that the old roost used to hang across that back wall, all the dried poop stains on it, LOL.

That's ingenious. Now that I see it, it makes so much sense. :)

My husband is the genius on this one. I was about to find the shelf brackets and screws. But, unless we have a lot of very big birds in here, this type of roost is fine for a grow out coop. You can even add a 3rd block and another 2x4 to make it longer if needed.
