So my last brooder is ginormous So I am downsizing to a tub for inside and combining them for outside in the run. Looky no touchy time. So I can not wait to get the newbies

I just bought a larger plastic tote last night since my three Buckeye chick are outgrowing their tote. I have been putting an old window screen over the top of the current tote but was planning to put a hardware cloth insert into the top. So, the timing of your post couldn't be better for me! I wasn't sure what to use to fasten the HC to the lid. What kind of tape did you use? And, did you consider any other way to fasten it?

Best wishes for your new flock!!

I used zip ties. Then covered the edges with gorilla tape
