New BYC Auction System - Want To Buy A Chicken (Just A Test)

I tried to post this in another topic but it didn't show up after posting but it works here also. It is just a copy & past so it wasn't edited.

I'm not worried about finding my topics which I do subscribe to but what is the point of posting a item for sale if it gets buried on page 240 under all of the sold & no longer available items. I don't see the need to make new post & clutter up even more & if people are buying my item & asking about it then it must be interesting enough or a good enough deal for others to see. Why can you not set it so it is user discretion whether the most recent post or topic is shown. I like the auction thing & it sounds good to do for the auction threads but for the items that stay available it doesn't.

Another thought would be instead of limiting how many auctions 1 person can list is to let them put all there auctions in one thread under the correct section. So if 10 people had 4 different chickens for sale there would only be 10 threads added & not 40. The OP would be responsible for keeping it current.

Your post did show up in the announcements section and I replied, but since you posted here just now I removed it from there since the standard members don't know about actions yet.

Remember, this is version 1.0 of the new BST Listing System. We'll continue to be updating it and adding more and more functionality in time that will address most of the concerns posted.

You'll still be able to comment in your old listings, but because of the new sorting order it will be in your best interest to post new listings. You can link to your old thread from the new listings if you think it would help you sell more items.

Remember, one of the main reasons we've created this new system is to have things be better organized for the members (sellers and buyers) and the staff. Also, the new and improved feedback system will be tied into listings which will make that system infinitely better than the current options for feedback.

Again, this makes things confusing for buyers and wouldn't be supported by the new feedback system or sort order.

This is a relatively large change and will take a bit of adjustment, but in the long term it will be better for the buyers, sellers, staff, and community as a whole.
