Maybe this will help you when you are considering doing a Main Page vs. a Simple Page and the requirements on each.


Main Chicken Breed Pages
This page will be the index page for the breed. It should include:

Detailed Breed Informaion
Breed History
Stats on the breed
Detailed information about eggs & production
Excellent pictures of:
Main breed image (the main picture to represent the breed)
Hen
Rooster
Eggs
Chick
Adolescent



Simple Chicken Breed Pages

This page will simply be for you to share pictures of your chickens and your personal experience with the breed. Each page submitted should be for one breed (i.e., not your entire flock) and it should include:

Your experience with the breed or a specific chicken
Pictures:
A main image. Maybe your favorite picture of the breed / chicken.
Up to 20 more pictures where you can include a description, the age and the gender.


Different varieties of a breed will be listed as Simple Pages under the Main Page. The Cochin Main Page is an excellent example of different varieties listed. Look and see this example of the Cochins:

We will be reserving your names for Main Pages. We will not have to be told about the Simple Pages.

Also, one more thing. Don't forget that two people can work together on a Main Page project. If you don't have all the pictures, maybe your BYC buddy does. Or, let us know, and we will see what we can do to help!! We really will be here to help you through this process of submitting your breeds.

What a great start!

The brahma page is excellent... never seen such pristine white chickens. My columbians love the dirt.

For some of you folks that may have a couple good pics of a roo but not juveniles or eggs, etc, consider collaborating with another BYCer. If you know of someone else that raises the breed you are interested in doing a page on, ask if they would allow you to use their photos.

I dont have enough experience to do the whole plymoth rock page, but I can help with it. I have partridge rocks, and they are a little harder to find info on, so if whoever does that one needs some help, let me know!
