I have posted a few times but it seems that I have not introduced myself and my girls. I got 3 chicks in March and 3 pullets week before last.
My girls:
Barred Rock: Shirley Chisholm
Easter Egger: Eleanor Roosevelt
Easter Egger: Emma Gonzales
Golden Comet: Poppy
Sapphire Gem: Margaret
Silver Laced Wyandotte: Aretha Franklin
The Golden Comet is the oldest at about 37 weeks. She laid an egg an hour after being added to the flock!
My Easter Egger Eleanor has laid 7 eggs so far, 4 of which have been double yokes!
My Barred Rock Shirley is at the top of the pecking order and very smart and curious.
My Wyandotte and Saphire Gem whom I have only had for a few weeks are amazingly affectionate. They like to be petted and Aretha actually jumped on my shoulder today! I could not have been happier! She is at the bottom of the pecking order and afraid of her shadow but she and her best friend, the Saphire Gem seem to really like me. I know I sound like Sally Field but I am delighted! Totally obsessed with these girls and thankful for this forum for all the wonderful information.
