Hello everyone, I am a newbie chicken owner and have had my 4 chicks for about 2 weeks now. When I got them I was told I had an Ameracauna, Barred Rock and 2 ISAs. As I look at them, I’m beginning to think this may not be the case. The Ameracauna I’m thinking is actually an Easter Egger and the other chipmunk striped pullet isn’t looking like what I have been seeing online as what Barred Rock chicks look like. Any opinions on the breeds? Thanks in advance. I’m just loving these babies so far!

Well I guess it’s like waiting for Christmas morning to see what she will end up looking like! I’ll keep posting pics as she changes and see what people think. I originally wanted a barred rock for their egg laying abilities, but these breeds seem interesting too.
Unfortunately if it is a barnevelder they lay very late and not very much.

I’ve also heard that Americaunas are in the $30 range, where EE are around $5. So a commercial seller wouldn‘t leave that kind of profit and sell the former as the latter. If they know they’re Americaunas, they’re going to make that $$!

Americaunas are EEs.... It’s ameracaunas that are expensive layers, some breeders change the spelling to trick people, without technically scamming them. Buncha shady business...there’s shady business even with chickens.
