New Chicks

Got a momma Buff that went broody a few days ago and I decided to let her sit on them. We have 10 other hens and 1 rooster. The rooster does not like to be touched, but is extremely good to his girls as well as our family. My question is, will the Buff fend for her chicks or will I need to put them in a brooder. This is my first time at this game. Any comments would be appreciated.

As soon as the chicks hatch I would move mom and babies to a place secure where she can raise them away from the others for a while. You could make a brooder and just take the chicks from her too. Just my opinion but the older birds could decide the chicks are unwelcome and momma might have too many to protect if they decide to attack them.
