New club in South La hosting our first show on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge, November 9th 2013

Guys,
We have a new start-up club in South La with a lot of dedicated new to the hobby members that will be hosting our first show in the middle of the LSU campus in Baton Rouge, Nov 9th 2013. We are planing this to be a double show and are currently lining up 4 judges to get it done. LSU tells us that they have as many as 2000 coops available for us to use so we would like to take advantage of this opportunity and fill up as many as we can. All the information for this show will be posted on our clubs web site as it comes available. Please check the site if your interested in showing with us and please give us any feed back if you see area that we could do better. Hope to see you there!

Hey Chris. I'm from Lafayette and I found you on the RIR thread. Yesterday I posted in the breed and sex thread. Title: " do I really have 7 roosters out of a flick of ten?"
Could you please look at my RIRs. I bought them from a feed store in Scott but I only care about having a hen! So I was hoping to get your opinion.
Now, next time I get chicks, I'll have to find you bc my mom is in Mandeville!

I feel your pain!
The RIR's are males and the one BR is a male but there may be a girl BR that I saw from the back. The BR girls are usually darker then the males. The Orpingtons look like pullets. I have a friend over in your area that might be able to help you out with some pullets or hens.

You could come to the show in November and you might be able to pick up some birds there or send me a PM if your interested and I'll get you hooked up with my friend.

Thanks for checking it out for me. I did purchase two sexed barred rocks. And when I bought the orphingtons I got an Easter egger that turned out to be female. Then my brother in law asked me to order chicks for him and later changed his mind and got a jacuzzi instead!! So I've got a full house for now. I just really wanted some RIRs. But at least I know What to do and who to go to. I'm new to everything and learning quick!
