new coop begun-two years later and we're still working on it

Thanks! I'm really happy with the way it is turning out. There's going to be enough room for all our chickens and then some. Hahahahahahaha

I love the coop. I can't wait to see the whole thing when its finished. I am going to be building a goose house soon and maybe I can get my guy to build me one like that. He can build anything. (yay because I can't). Thanks for the idea.

LOL, thanks everyone. We thought it was a pretty original idea to use this old kit DH has had for about 20 years and then someone on here showed a link to strombergs. They sell the kits and plans! Still love it though.
So, what should we finish it with? Opinions? Stain and preservative? Paint? Color? I'd love to know what people think it would look good in, because I keep changing my mind.

View from the deck. DH is putting the roof on. On the left is my little water garden (near the red Japanese maple) which is empty at the moment for cleaning. Then is the ducks and their enclosure. Then there's the doghouse my two adult hens are living in right now. The new coop is obvious and you can just see Oliver, my 3 month old roo in a dog pen in front of DS's playscape, getting some fresh air and meeting Sasha and Rocky, my two hens.

Thanks! He's got half the roof panels on in just one afternoon. He threw a tarp over it all. Nasty weather expected tomorrow. Hopefully he will have the rest up before the weekend. He'll be finishing up the door at school (he teaches tech ed and has better tools and more space to work there). It should be finished enough to start moving birds in. I have one roo who is driving me nuts and needs a bigger place to live!

The coop is looking great! We just started building a new coop today, and it's turning out to be huge! We just finished the floor today and are hoping to get more done next weekend, hopefully the weather will be nicer. You know, I can always take that roo off your hands
