How high from the floor can roosts go? And We’ve decided that we’re probably going to put in a poop shelf.

Depends on breeds (some are better fliers than others), but generally they need a way to get down, and flight path is generally looked at like a 45 degree angle.

However.... good fliers don't usually need that much flying space.

Chickens can hop pretty well about 1.5 feet straight up, so you can also just make a "step" for them.

I have perches at all kinds of heights. My tallest are at almost 6 feet (because my bantams REFUSE to perch lower, and I have failed at walling off where they like to perch). But I prefer 3 feet to 4 feet tall perches

In a coop as short as your plan, I'd keep everything as low as possible.

On the blue print i made it about 26” high, only because i’m thinking about adding a poop tray under it

A ramp would eat up a bunch of space...

If the shelf is only 26" high, then even fat old hens would only need one step. A stump would work well.

In case it is helpful here is how I kept the eaves open.
Picture from the outside and inside.
I am in NJ too and I also kept both gable ends open although I did add a baffle to stop driving snow.

Hey y’all, we want to build a new coop. I have come up with a blueprint. I need opinions on how to make it better. Anything that can be pointed out or changed is fine! Thank you!

And to offer shade and weather protection.

And to keep the owner out of the weather when collecting the eggs and doing chores.

I went with a 2' overhang and used hardware cloth for the soffits.
I think my most successful ventilation is probably the roof vent and the gable ends - the coop is oriented E-W which aligns with the prevailing winds so there is good flow going on up high which I think draws any excess humidity up and out.
@CKfarm22 you wanted pictures of the inside of my coop - I should warn you it is a very extravagant build (we call it the Chicken Palace for a reason!). What aspects of inside would you like to see specifically? I can do ventilation close ups if that is your focus.
