Went to a coupl eof pet shops today looking for a guinea pig, and ened up coming home with a ring neck dove hen instead. Hoping to pair her off with one of my two males, and have some babies soon.

The lady i bought her from said one of her hens produces whites. She also had a bunch of blues mixed in with them. I may eventually go back and get more from her. She had a lot of them. Wasn't all that impressed wth her pet shop though.

Thanks. She is doing well and with one of the males right now. Hoping they nest soon. She is awefully quiet compared to the boys.

That is a beautiful hen!

She looks alot like mine that I used to have. I now have a white hen, I would like to get a male for her, but the pet store near here doesn't have any collared doves.

Mine did really well with their babies, I hatched out 3 squabs from 3 hatches, for some reason only one of the eggs hatched each time, and I think once they both hatched, but then died

But the other 3 did really good, the parents fed them well, and they were lots of fun. I hope to get more soon. D

Thanks chicago and critter gal. If she worksout really well I might go back to the same shop and pick up some blues or some whites. They also had a couple that were a combination of blue and creme colors. Nice looking birds. Not so great look pet store though. I was surprised they had them because around here do not carry ring necks at all. i'll probably keep a nice hen out of her to breed with and sell the rest of the babies.

I think doves are so adorable. I have got my other two to the point where they love to be held, petted, and played with.
