Tbis ia a pic of a dish that we use in the brooder for all our ducks....View attachment 1163028 ...ya can see where the corner has been cut out of the lid....they can get their head in and it helps to keep them from slinging water everywhere...they still make a wet spot, but it doesn't make near as big a mess....ya may have to experiment some with the size ya need and make it larger as it grows. A large butter dish, cool whip, or any large plastic container with a lid will work. Tupperware is expensive, so I'd get something that is usually tossed away anyway.....![]()
A brick even helps....elevating their bowls on wire over a pan helps keep the water from soaking everything else too.
The one we have in a brooder right now has graduated to a gallon jug with the hole just above the half-way mark. We named him Soli because he is the only one that hatched...he is about 6wks old rigbt now and is a Rouen drake....he is starting to get some of his green bead feathers in, and we will probably put him with the flock in a couple more wks....Yes.....That's what I use too......First tiny all the way up to Icecream pails.....
