Hello Everyone,
I'm new to the chicken world. I don't have any chickens yet but I'm considering the Australorps. I love these little black chickens. Also, I live in the deep south in the heat & humidity and read that they will still produce in the heat.

So I'm open tips to get me started in raising my little chic-a-dees.

My other hobbies are gardening and playing with my little Bichon Frise puppy dog.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining. Quite a few are directed at new chicken parents so definitely worth checking out.
