Hello! I am joining this website to learn more about hatching emus and connect with others who have tall feathered family members. My husband and I are currently incubating 2 emu eggs. This is my first time being around for the incubation process, but he successfully hatched an egg earlier this year. Unfortunately, he is no longer with us... It was a devastating loss, but we are hopeful to try again. Nice to meet you all.

Emus were very popular among chickeners, some years ago. Not much recently. I believe it takes 55 days for eggs to hatch. First year of life they are extremely fragile. If their legs are in any way unsound it will doom the chick. They need strong legs to hold up their bodies.
