I'm sorry to hear that some jerk comes onto your property and tries to steal Prince and then because he gets injured Prince has to die. I imagine it was difficult to take his life though I'm glad he was spared the stress of being moved just to be killed.

What an amazing life you lead for sure. Sounds very amazing and similar to what I would have loved to do myself w/mammals had I not had children (didn't *plan* on it.)
Blows my mind what some ppl get away with. Makes no sense at all that they made you put your boy down...What was their legal basis if you don't mind me asking? Just thank God he didn't come after you.

Too bad the croc didn't just eat the guy. Stupid should hurt, and sometimes it should be fatal.

I had a friend who was selling a litter of puppies and someone called him to chew him out for not spaying his dog (a purebred border collie) because in their opinion, it added to all the unwanted dogs around, and then the next day, someone poisoned all the puppies and most of them died. Too bad he didn't have a crocodile!

I don't like putting pics up online much either, mostly because of my kids. Most of mine are on MySpace and only my "real world" friends can see them there.

I find your post to be very interesting. What organizations are you affiliated with doing research? I would love to read some of your work. I used to house sit for a lady that bred jungle pythons, geckos, and these very rare Australian snakes (sorry I cannot remember the name of the snakes!). I got my first lucistic geckos from her and they were pretty neat. Do you have to have special permits to keep the crocodiles? Sounds like a fascinating life you have! Welcome aboard.

Well, he had just ripped someone's leg off, he would've been considered an vicious animal in court...Too bad no one sticks up for crocs like they do guard dogs.

As for my job, I recently started teaching the assistants in the lab how to properly handle venomous snakes. My boss is giving me a nice raise to do this..so yeah life is good. I got sick of only coming to the lab once a week. Ugh, a lot of my other research is confidential right now..I'm working on something big. If it turns out to be anything...well we'll see.

On the other hand, I do keep venomous snakes of my own for research.
